Hi. I received this camera as a christmas gift but it is designed more for studio use and I need a smaller, less fancy, quick shot camera.
I would like to sell the camera I have on Ebay but really have no idea how much it is worth. I was hoping that someone who knows a little more about this type of camera could look at the photos I have of it and tell me both how to list it and also what you think it is worth.

You have some rich relative/friend there! S3 Pro as Xmas gift?!
The body alone will fetch a small fortune. I hardly see a S3 pro on ebay but if it appears on Ebay Australia I'd expecti it to fetch not less than $600AUD. It's a great camera for portrait.
I can't work out the lenses. But they look like older type Nikkor. The long one looks like 28-100 F3.5-5.6D? That would fetch around $100AUD.
The short one looks like 50 F/1.4 AI?
Sorry to be of limited help.

Well am I correct that 600AUD comes out to about $524 american dollars? That seems low. Iwas thinking closer to $1200. Am I way off?

It's me who could be way off...... It's a rough guess and shouldn't be taken as any indicator. I just said AT LEAST but you might get much more and one thing for sure is that there won't be a shortage of bidders.
It's hard to find a shop that store a Fuji DSLR but an internet link shows a brand new S5 Pro selling for just under $1200 AUD. If they still have one in stock.

This seems to be fairly typical Downunder (incl lens):

That's equal to USD$1005 at the moment.

Cheers. :)

This is the info I found on the lenses.

Nikon AF NIKKOR 70-300mm 1.4-5.6D ED Zoom Lens with hood in Excellent++ Condition
found for $278-$350

Nikon NIKKOR 50mm 1:1.8
around $125

There are more than one type of 50 mm 1.8. Yours looks like an older type since it has a white? or metallic ring band in the middle.
AI type

I doubt a used AI lens will get over $100 since you can get a brand new 50mm F/1.8D AF for $134 from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005LEN4/kenrockwellcom). AF-D is newer version.

So does anyone have any idea what I should ask for the camera & two lenses? It also comes with the things pictured and the instruction booklet. If you think it woul dmake a difference I could possibly include the USB and firewire cords.

Also, do I need to know when this camera was made? I see some listings have a year, how would I know what year it was made?
Thanx!

So does anyone have any idea what I should ask for the camera & two lenses? ....

As I said the camera should fetch a small fortune.
Aren't you putting the camera on ebay for auction? The auction will sort itself out towards the final price.

.. do I need to know when this camera was made?....
Most serious bidders will do their own research but FYI, the S3 Pro was released in February 2004 until late 2006. However the age of the camera should start from the day it was bought and used, not the day it was made.
