My Canon PowerShot SD770 IS lost its screen a few months ago, but I was getting by fine with the viewfinder until I noticed my pictures were in black and white, with a single color present, usually some shade of green. Videos are still in full color.

My question is: Is there a broken component in the camera, or is it just a setting or filter that I can turn off?

My other question is: If it's a setting, how can I reset the camera to factory default settings blindly? (Order of button-presses would be appreciated.)

Menu->Tools->Reset All

But I'm guessing that won't help, it sounds like your camera is dying.

It's only 9 months old so I hope not. How many times do I scroll down in menu to get to Tools, and how many times do I scroll there to get to Reset All. Recall that my screen is broken.

Hrmm, I don't have an SD770, I have and SD800 so I don't know if the models are exactly the same. I'll look when I get home.

Or you can just leave the battery out for 24 hours, that may do a reset as well.
