I think my camera has died! HELP!!

I have a Cannon Cyber-Shot- When I turn it on nothing happens. Then in the screen it reads, "turn off and on again" and the lens just moves in and out. Nothing comes up on the screen. I can not live without my Cannon! Is there any way to fix? Or, do I need to by a new one??????

First, this is in the wrong forum. This should probably be in the Canon forum or the General Photography Chat forum. I'll report this to have it moved.

What kind of batteries are you using? What model is your camera? Does it use AA batteries or a proprietary Li-Ion battery? If the camera is fairly old and your batteries are original they may have simply worn out. You can also check the contacts inside your camera and clean them off.

Or you may have an electrical problem and the camera is toast. Except for battery issues, this is almost impossible to diagnose over the internet.
