proshow gold

hi! is anybody using this slide show software? it looks pretty darn good, but it's quite pricey though. good reviews in the net, but i would like to ask those who have actually used it whether it's worth every dollar? :D

Proshow Gold is a very good program, lots of quite amazing stuff can be done in PSG, but it does have a steep learning curve. No tutorials, for instance, and a somewhat skimpy reference help index. It's easy enough to get started and work your way up to the level of a good PowerPoint presentation, but then you have to put in your work. Multiple motion effects, for instance, stump me. The Help page says I can do them, but then seems to lose interest and doesn't say how, or offer a url or pointer to a citation that would help. So, if you want to do the cool stuff Photodex shows off on its site, be prepared to beat your head on the wall a few times.
