After not using my S3 for about 6 mos I have an issue with power drain in 'Shoot' mode. The low battery icon is seen then 'Change the batteries' after about 2 shots (if I'm lucky). The batteries are fine, I know, but unless they are topped of charged, they won't power Shoot mode. I have the CHKD hack with the battery meter in the display so I can see the batteries are fine.

In 'Playback ' mode I do not have this problem. I can use the camera in Playback mode until the camera dies according to the battery meter. Just drains the power in Shoot mode.

Anyone else have/had this problem? What did you have to do to fix it?

Take the batteries out and clean the contacts in the camera (and on the batteries themselves). I usually just scrape them with a key or other handy object to remove rust and buildup on the contacts. If the batteries are good that will likely fix the problem. I do that with my S3 occasionally.

Forgot all about the reset and it worked. Don't know why or what was wrong, but it worked.
