Thnx! I made a small mistake... the first shot was with the 24-70, and I love that lens too...I am married to multiple lenses... what do they call that... photogamy?

The third shot, how did you get the boat sharp when you have star trails? Did you fire the flash at the end of the exposure (rear curtain sync)??

Many thanks! To answer your question Herc, I set my camera in manual mode. f/2.8 and shutter to Bulb. I used my MC36 Remote to take a 4 min exposure. The full moon was over my right shoulder. While the exposure was being made, I used a handy little flashlight to paint the boat a few times over to light it up more than the rest of the picture. With this particular flashlight being cold in color, I usually set my in camera WB to shade to warm up the picture a little. Hope this helps.
