Now, before i go any further, allow me to elaborate, i only use a P&S canon(G-9). My pro system is still NIKON!!! Before that, I used a Nikon D-70 as my "every other occasion" camera, because i didnt want to carry around my D300's. So, carrying around the G-9 makes it even better. My first digital P&S was the G-6, then i got the G-7. Then, bought a Nikon P5100(trying to stay loyal to the brand). Hated it!!! Nikon still has a long way to go in the P&S department. Then, I bought the G-9 when it came out and loved it ever since.
I have mixed feelings about the G11 as well. Off the top, what i dont like about the G-10 & 11, are the dials at the top(mode dial & iso dial under each other as you can see on video : Canon G11 video reviews (http://www.infoborder.com/Digital_Cameras/Video/CanonPowerShotG11.php) ). And the exposure compensation having its own dial. To me its like canon took a step backwards from the G-9(which was simplistic & straight foward in its design), when they made the G-10 & 11. When i saw the G-10, i was like what the??????? So, needless to say, i'll be keeping my G-9 for a lonnnnnnnnngggg time!!! Until canon comes out with something that REALLY catches my eye.
Enjoy your new camera...
