Hey ppl

I was reviewing some travel photography of mine from last year and noticed noise.. a noticeable amount, especially once viewed on a 20" screen that had not been spotted on a 13" when previously viewing these photos.

Obviously as it was taken abroad this sin of leaving the camera on too many occasions at ISO 1600 (a D300) is not one I can rectify by a quick journey back to the site to re-shoot.

Now I use both Lightroom 2 and Capture NX 1.x (contemplating V2.x upgrade soon), but am seeking advice on the best way to deal with a sizeable volume of photographs with noise issues. Would like to somehow deal with the noise issue to allow me to 'clean up' these photos, if it can be integrated into my workflow, then even better.

As usual, any advice appreciated!

Get "neat image". Works like a charm. Havn't found anything better. You can download a trial version and try it out to see the results. It lets you process one picture at a time. The full version lets you do batch processing etc etc

Hey ppl

Capture NX 1.x (contemplating V2.x upgrade soon),

Do it! Its worth it!!

I agree with the NeatImage suggestion. If you have alot of photos, get the paid version for batch.

Another option is NoiseNinja but for me, I found NI was better.

Imagenomic and Topaz are both good noise reduction programs.
Like all things software it's a case of trying several and finding the one that best suits you.

Noise ninja as a batch within CS3 works well for me.
