Can't see new photos on pc card reader

I have a Memorex SmartMedia card that I'm using in an Olympus C-4040Zoom. In the past, I've successfully taken photos, inserted the card into the pc card reader slot, copied the photos to a file, deleted them from the card and started all over again.

This time, however, I can view the most recent photos while the card is IN the camera...but when I insert it into the pc card reader, the photos that show up are OLD ones I previously copied and deleted. The NEW photos are not showing up through the reader. When I put the card back into the camera, I CAN see the new photos...just not on the pc.

Can anyone help me understand or fix this problem? Thank you in advance!

i have the exact same problem with an olympus 2gb xd card in a olympus tough 8000?
Also would appreciate any help?

I had a similar problem with my daughters Fuji; the card had disloged and the camera was saving to internal memory.
Do your cameras have internal memory ?

personally mine does not without the memory card it says its blank...
