I won't have it until next week but I'll be picking up a LNIB Nikon 35 f/1.4 lens. Wasn't looking for another lens but stumbled across this at a price too good to pass up.

I'm looking forward to having another 'small' lens; those f/2.8 zooms aren't fun to carry around all day.

I just received the lens and only had about 15 minutes to play with it so far. My initial impressions are very high- this is an extremely well built lens that takes very sharp images. I have a very busy week but will post a few images by the weekend.

It snows there you would have to wear a long sleeve shirt at least.

Just so you could borrow my glass or for the other benefits of NYC as well? :)

I don't have the heart to tell you what new glass is being delivered on Thursday. It's 3rd party and not from Nikon but still gets good reviews. I for one am quite content knowing that I saved some bucks this time around by going with quality glass from another manufacturer.

The one Thom Hogan uses is the 18mm Zeiss, which is very well regarded.

Are you guys that good at guessing or am I that predictable? :)

Rooz- You nailed it.

gen2roller- I haven't slept much in 48 hours- looks like you had a chance to read and respond to my earlier post where I mistakenly said it was the Zeiss 28mm.

I've been really tied up helping my sister with a custody battle for well over the past month and have had minimal time to shoot or do much of anything other than come online from time to time. Today will be the first day I get to go out and shoot and I am very much looking forward to beginning the learning curve with my new glass.
