I have been shopping for a new tripod and want to get something decent but do not want to drop a ton of cash on it. One of the models I was looking at was an entry level Bogen Tripod. The 190xb to be exact. It fits everything I am looking for and is relatively cheap. I was ready to spend about $130 on the legs and then another $100 for a head. I then came across this deal on buy.com. It seams too good to be true. It isn’t the head I wanted but I will deal with it for the price. Bogen is also offering a manufacturer rebate of $25 on a this tripod. Getting over $200 worth of gear for $75 seems like a can't miss deal. The company selling through buy.com does not have the best reviews but I am still tempted. ??????????

Here is the link to BH selling the same legs.

Don't be tempted. You have answered your own question.

'Am I missing something?'

Well if you buy from a shop that has so many negative reviews then maybe common sense. ;) Do yourself a favour and pay a bit extra. It's well worth it. :)

'Am I missing something?'

Short Answer. YES!
Does the term "buyers remoarse" mean anything to you?
How about "if it's too good to be true" hmmmm?
Greed and empty pockets make strange bedfellows, this
one is leading down the road of "there's one born every
minute"!

C'mon esp use some common sense here!

I would not buy from them especially if they do not have good reviews. Plus, this deal sounds too good to be true. Anyways, I buy most of my camera stuff from amazon.com. They are well know and plus they have great return or refund policy. I recently bought a tamron 70-200 2.8 len and after using for a week I found a little spec inside the glass that cannot be removed without taking the lens apart. I went on my amazon account to fill up the return from online, after filling up the form they give you a print out to place on the box when your return it. Once I got that done I went to post office to ship it back and within a few days Amazon email me that they have recieved the lens. Oh yeah, once you fill out a return on amazon they mail you out the same product right away without even recieving the one you havent sent back yet.

Well, that was my experiance with amazon and it was a great one. Here is the link for that tripod at amazon

I was really hoping that by posting this thread I would get a few replies from people had purchased from them before and was pleased. I usually purchase everything from B&H, Amazon or Adorama but was tempted to stray from that do to the fact that they were selling through a reputable dealer in buy.com. I ended up getting a different tripod through Adorama this morning. The Benro A-258M8. I will post a quick review once the package arrives. Thanks to everyone for pointing out the obvious and helping me fight the temptation.

They have feedback. Use that. It's no better or worse than opinions here.
