View Full Version : Kaboom! Lightning his Houston

Thunderstorm in Houston last night

I always get weird looks when I run to the balcony with the tripod and camera. Tonight their was the first lightning storm… or I should say… first lightning since we moved in. I took about 20 timed shots altogether and only 4 or so were workable. This was the best one of the bunch.

URL = super large version where you can zoom in and pan around of the following image.
if you can zoom in on the link, you can see the lightning behind the building under construction. kinda cool.

(for some reason my image isn't displaying. sorry!!)

That really is cool what a fantastic capture. Your patience was rewarded well. I love the way you can zoom in on the lightening behind the building too. How do you set up an image & post it so that it can be zoomed & panned like that?

Gintaras - Thank you very much!

Devin - Thanks! Actually I do. Just moved in this last month. Been waiting for a lightning storm to come.

Puritycontroller - Thank you and you are very welcome. I'll keep taking photos. Maybe I'll get another keeper soon.

Phill D. - Thanks! I usually take the photo, pull it to the computer and save it as a jpg or tiff. from there I was referred this program to use to make the webpage (where you can zoom around and stuff ) Zoomifyer EZ v3.1 . test it out and see if you like it.

thanks again everyone!

Outstanding shot!!! The lightning is incredible (great spot for it in the photo too, so it doesn't cover the other interesting parts of the image).

Great picture! Only version that does it justice is the big one on your webpage.
