Hello,
I Just Purchased a Zs3 and am new to this. I want to take photos and also videos. I bought it from broadway photo. The gentleman said I would need a High speed error free memory card atleast 8gb if i was going to do any videos. I declined the offer to buy it threw them. can I just go to walmart and buy any sd or sdhc 8 gb memory card or do i need the special one he suggests. Do i need bigger then 8 gb or it this ok? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Any 8G SDHC card rated Class 4 or Class 6 will be fine. You can buy them online cheaper usually. This is the cards I've been using recently.

I'd stick with 8G for now. It takes a lot of shooting to fill up one of those. If you find yourself shooting a lot of video (which will fill up the cards quicker) then buy a second card.

What does the class mean. class 4 or class 6. Is one better than the other. Also whta is the difference between SD and SDHC

The class rating of a SDHC card is a speed rating - class 6 is faster than class4. I don't know if the ZS3 can make full use of the faster speed of class 6 cards - it might be mentioned in the manual. Even if the camera isn't fast enough to make use of class 6 cards, you might benefit from faster speeds uploading to the computer if you have a fast card reader.
SDHC is Secure Digital High Capacity and is a revision to the specification of SD cards to allow capacities greater than 2GB.

thanks for the info. I made a big mistake though ordering it threw broadway photo without reading reviews first. They have been giving me the run around. I should have had it by now.

Uh-huh. Did you order it online? Did you bother to do any research about the company, through such places as www.resellerratings.com?

You will likely never get the camera because you didn't order the memory card from them as well. I would suggest that if you used a credit card you challenge the charge right now.

I called them about 1 hour ago,I went threw the whole deal with themalso. The guy Named Tom said my camera would ship tomorrow. I informed him that I was leaving for vacation in 8 days and had to have it. i figure I would give them 2 days and if it isnt shipped with a tracking number I will call the credit card co.
When I originally called to order this the black one was 375.00 any other color was 399.00. I really wanted silver but took the black. When I called them yesterday to get a tracking number the man said it wasnt in stock, but they had silver in and I could have it for the same price. Just seems like the S.O.S as in the reviews. I wonder how these places stay in business.
