Hello,

I have an old Fuji MX-1700 which was fine for my needs, until a few weeks ago when almost all of the pictures I took started to be blurry. I haven't changed any settings that I know of, I used the flash for all interior shots, and didn't zoom excessively. My only guess is that the original lithium ion battery might need to be replaced? Does anyone have any other guesses? Obviously, with the advances in technology since I bought this, I would opt to replace it before paying to have it serviced, but just wondered if replacing the battery would be worth a try.

Thanks much,

Kelle

KelleIf the battery was bad, you wouldn't see any images on screen, probably wouldn't even be able to shoot any pictures. (I'm assuming, of course, that you recharged the battery before this happened? If not, you could be right!) Your problem runs deeper than that, I suspect. :(

Hi,

I have a guess (since that seems what we're doing here!). Did you drop or bump the camera before you noticed that your pictures were coming out blurry? Maybe a lens element got knocked around and that's what's making the pictures blurry. It's probably a long shot but it was worth a guess. Also, your problems may just be from using a 4 year old camera! Hope this helps!

I really doubt age causes cameras to suddenly malfunction. Mine is running close to 4 years old too, and it's still good as new despite a few exterior scratches. If cameras were made only to last a few years, people would be reluctant to go for them.
