Ok. I tried playing with the shutter speed. I like these photos. So hopefully if the sun is shining more I and continue to practice and hopefully get better at this!

Nice job Spinning. I see you used sports mode,the shutter speed was 1/1000, iso 400 to 500 @ f5.6

The focus points seemed to work well. I use center point 80% of the time. I was impressed that it ignored the trees in the background on all of these shots. You can view these focus points in zoom browser that came with your camera.

I don't know if this helped but I did pan with the dive. SO amazed I can actually do that now!

At your 1/1000 shutter speed it may not have helped much, but a good technique to learn anyhow.

It might be interesting to try Tv mode with a slower shutter speed around 1/160 - 1/200, pan with the diver, and use flash as fill. Not sure if the flash could keep up with the sequence of shots you did, but it might.
