I recently purchased a ZS3. To be honest I don't know much about photography and always used automatic modes on my cameras so far. I owned a Canon S400 for over 4 years which I was very happy with. Few months ago I bought a Sony W170 but I didn't like the IQ, so replaced it with ZS3 hoping to get a good IQ.
But my experience so far has been mixed -- video is far more better than what I expected, in fact I ended up stop carrying my Sony Camcorder after buying ZS3. However, the indoor IQ hasn't been very good. Many shots have blur in it, mostly when subjects are slightly moving. For example, kids signing on stage, kids at play etc. I did try with both iA and automatic modes with auto flash but both resulted in same kind of image quality. When I get good shots (mostly when subjects are not moving) they were excellent. Looks like the camera was always trying to go into potrait mode, but I could be wrong.
Given the above information, do you think I am doing somethign fundamentally wrong or did I get a lemon?
