been into the photography thing for a few years now but i've never actually put anything on the wall..wold went out of business so i bought a few big frames for cheap....and i finally ordered a print...in 18x24.

took this one a looooong time ago at work. shot with the 30d and the old 24-70L
70mm @ ISO 320 f/2.8 1/500s...shot in JPEG and if you notice it's a little oversharpened for print.

it's tough when you're a portrait photographer, it's weird to put pictures of other people up in your house, especially in your room. seriously, it would really throw me off during sex. almost like a dog or cat watching you go at it. anway...rant over.

I hear you. That's why I have very few prints hanging.

How does the print look or haven't you received it yet? I'm thinking about getting a 20x30 of the lifeguard/surfboard sunrise done up. Wal-Mart has poster frames on the cheap.

Nice dude. I have a bunch of wedding photos up and I printed the Jacquie picture, other than that I've got nothing.... kinda a waste to have all this money in photography shit and I only ever view my stuff at 800 pixels wide. haha.

The only prints I put up on the walls are architecture & flower shots for that reason...

my girlfriends has a HUGE poster of that Twilight guy in her bedroom....freaking ANNOYING!!!

I plan to print big soon to sell at a local Monthly market for artists....I still haven't printed anything for myself apart from printing for an exhibition....

How do you know if you've sharpened too much for print???

I was thinking of doing something similar peter. However, I'm debating how distracting it would be, or if people coming over my house would think I'm weird.

I thought Dover was in Delaware. Is there one in NJ too?

We'll all have to get together sometime for sure.

Yeah Rockaway/Denville area. (I'm moving there to be close to my sister & niece.) Once I get settled in, we'll get together for a shoot. :)

I had some 16x24s printed from my XT. They were pretty darned good.

Regarding frames, I did get a cheap frame from K-Mart once. I needed the hardboard backing for something. The actual plastic on the front was so horrible that if I'd been using it as a frame, I'd have taken it right back - it was grossly distorted with marks that were invisible before I'd removed the cling film. Cheap frames can be a nightmare. I tend to pay a bit more and get mine in sales at frame shops.

In my area frame stores/photo stores tend to overcharge for frames, i usually get mine from art supply stores.

In a mall, i can walk into the art supply store and pay 10$, walk 2 shops over into the camera store and see the same one at 15$ easily.

Im not saying it'll apply, but its good to shop around :)

One tip... Buy the frame and the mat before you get the print made. That way you don't have to have a custom mat cut.

haven't got it yet. i think it'll be here wednesday but i'm not sure. i'm not exactly what you'd call a productive person. it's even possible that print won't make it to the frame for a week or two. we'll see though, even i don't know how lazy i'll be.

you ever see those people in public just staring off into space? well i'm that guy.

a few years back a buddy of mine was over my apartment with me and my girlfriend. we're watching tv. a commercial break comes on and i look over and he's gone. i look at my gf and say "where did he go?" and she said, "he left a long time ago. he said bye.....you said bye back." i was amazed. that's when i came to realize i'm an oblivious person.

Hah! I'm often like that. Pisses off my wife. But I prefer "contemplative" to "oblivious."
