I was disappointed to see that DCRP is not included on a list of the top 50 internet sites on digital photography  :

http://www.invesp.com/blog-rank/Photography

Is this an oversight, or slighting b/c of the criteria considered?

If it's accurate, can we (as site users) do anything to improve DCRP's rankings?

this site is not a blog.

I was disappointed to see that DCRP is not included on a list of the top 50 internet sites on digital photography.....

As Rooz has already stated, those stats refer to blogs only.

According to SnapVillage, this is their Top Ten rankings (in no particular order):

DPReview (http://www.dpreview.com/)
CameraLabs (http://www.cameralabs.com/)
Steve’s Digicams (http://www.steves-digicams.com/)
PhotographyBlog (http://www.photographyblog.com/)
Luminous Landscape (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/)
DCResource
(http://www.dcresource.com/forums/../)
ImagingResource (http://www.imaging-resource.com/)
FredMiranda (http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/)
RobGalbraith (http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/index.asp)
Photo.net (http://photo.net/)

:)

Yeah, I noticed the "blog" mention.

But, I browsed several - they really aren't any more or less blogs than DCRP is.

UH - WHERE? I don't see any listing on SnapVillage. And since when is a site for selling photos an authority on digital photo sites? I'm not complaining (OK, actually I am), I'm just looking for an authoritative listing based on certain criteria.

Sorry, but please don't expect anyone here to argue this point endlessly!

If you can't appreciate the difference between a BLOG (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/blog?r=75) and a review site, then it's a waste of time discussing it from the point of view of semantics.

And rather than complain about the list I've suggested, it maybe more productive to think about doing your own research.

Get a grip.

I know what a blog is and I know what a review site is. And I know that several sites are hybrids of each. Take a look at some of those sites. (eg - http://www.dphotojournal.com/) If you can't see this, then...

I don't want to argue endlessly - the invesp list was misleading, I missed the 'blog' descriptor, my bad.

I was disappointed. And I was hoping for a better list of photog site rankings (blog or otherwise) if anyone knew of one. And although i know how to Google, like any other monkey, I'm not up on what a real site ranking authority is. And I would have liked to seen the link to your list.

If Alexa is authoritative, then I can enter any number of search phrases. The best I can do is the search phrase "digital camera reviews" and delimit by 'consumer info'. This give me the below list (which includes video camera sites).

1. Digital Photography Review - dpreview.com
2. DCViews dcviews.com
3. Digital Camera Resource Page dcresource.com
4. Camcorderinfo.com camcorderinfo.com
5. CNET.com cnet.com
6. Photoxels photoxels.com
7. ZDNet UK zdnet.co.uk
8. Videomaker.com Magazine videomaker.com
9. Ultimate SLR Digital Camera Resource Site ultimateslr.com

If I switch camera with photography, I get a different listing, but still with vid stuff and many sites in a different order.

So, if anyone has an authoritative listing, please post it.

*Sheesh!*
