Hmmmm .......... the idea is good but the execution isn't quite there. I'd rather see more water outline and the kiss doesn't seem real... Looks like they are biting each other instead of kissing passionately.

I'm with Tim, too much white for my tastes, a little more definition of water would go a long way methinks, and a better kiss too- it does look like they're redefining "eating face"

I would prefer him kissing from the other side--it almost seems as if they are battling with their mouths.
Nice concept.

I like the concept as well...but would prefer a portrait crop with a shot of them kissing(without light coming from between their mouths)

I like it! timing on the kissing is the only stand out.
Don, all in all it doesn't matter whether WE like it or not. If its different - and you like - it can define your style!
If you like to create it - DO IT!
If your clients like it - DO IT! Maybe they'll buy.
I think there can exist a space for images WE as photogs like to create AND a space for images that our clients like and will buy. I don't think they necessarily need to exist in the same space.
If, however, the clients buy what you like to create...you have DEFINED your style and can become known and sought out for your style - THAT I think is the ultimate goal and would be an AWESOME space to exist in!!

Layman's opinion... if I was the girl in that pic, I'd snap it up instantly. Just preferably without any space between the mouths...it looks a bit odd.
Other than that... I'd adore a pic like that with me in it...

True that. But he asks for opinions and by no means these opinions should be seen as unfair criticisms. As for the space between the mouths, it can be easily 'photoshopped' out.

I like it. Just waiting for a sea serpent to snatch them up though... ;)

I like it - minus the black border.
I could see this printed large on stretched canvas hung on a coloured wall. Awesome.

i like it. i doubt you're asking about the kiss or pose, so i'll just talk about the edit. it looks great. i think there's a little too much negative space as is, but i bet their names would fit pretty good over there. it would also make for a great beginning of a business card design too.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I ditched it because ultimately it's just not my style and I think it looks like what newbies do when they try to "save" a photo.
