I have an old SLR camera from Sears the KS-2 that no longer works. I do have good lenses from that camera though and would love to be able to get a digital SLR camera that those lenses can be used on. Is this possible and if so what cameras would work?

Is this your camera? http://www.mattdentonphoto.com/cameras/sears_ks2.html

I think this might work for you (assuming you were going to use a Canon EOS digital SLR Body):

It seems the Pentax cameras will be the best match (because they use K-mount lenses as well). If your lenses don't autofocus on modern Pentax bodies, the Panasonic G1 might allow for the easiest manual focusing. You would need an adapter to fit your lenses to the G1.

Be careful — some of those Ricoh lenses are almost like the Pentax K mount, but have a pin which means you can get it on the camera easily but not back off. However, I'm 99% sure that this camera body uses the regular K mount. (Wikipedia says the Ricoh model name would have the letter P in it if the mount were a problem, and it doesn't.)

I don't think you'll get metering on the camera with one of those adapters for Canon, but you will with a Pentax dSLR (with one button press to stop down the aperture, which unfortunately can't be avoided). Plus, you'll get shake-reduction.

What lenses do you have?

sometimes those older lens' are a false economy. unless you have some good f2.8 or better glass, its not worth letting them decide your system direction.

Well, if it comes with the kit lens pictured in the link above (Auto Sears 50mm f/1.4), that's not a bad start. It's not worth a whole bunch but it's quite well regarded. But yeah, let's hear the list.
