i currently have a canon 350d but my 21st birthday is in a few weeks and am thinking of getting a new camera for it. between £200 - £300 ($300 - $440?)

i was thinking of getting maybe a nikon d40 or d50 because my brother has a nikon and really like it. but im only thinking nikon because i only really know nikon and canon, i suppose i could get an upgraded canon? I DONT KNOWWW, Im totally just confused about what to get!

im starting university in september so would be nice to get a new camera for that too.

i like to shoot everything so dont have a preference for landscape or portrait or anything like that.

any help pleaseeeeeeee.

I don't see the point of switching-also, do you have any dissatisfaction with your current camera?

How about a new lens/accessory for your camera?

Save your money for a new and better Canon so you can use your Canon lens. The new 500d looks very sweet.

There's nothing wrong with the entry level Nikon's, but if your boyfriend is also going Canon you can share lenses if you also remain with Canon. Besides, you're already familiar with the Canon system. I agree that the new Canon 500D is the perfect upgrade.

Hi, my boyfriend bought a Canon PowerShot SD1200 for me. I am pleased with the features. Its 10 PM makes it a breeze to print large size images. Very nice!

Are you saying you are selling your 350D to your bf? The benefit of staying with Canon is you 2 can share lenses, flash and other gear; not to mention you two will be very familiar to use each other's camera.
