Hi all,

New to DSLR, been looking at some photos from a photo site, and noticed the photos have the following settings.

Camera: Nikon D3
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 98 mm
Exposure: +0.65
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: On, Return detected

I want to ask how come "Exposure" comes out twice? I know the first one, being 1/60 as the shutter speed, but what does the 2nd set of exposure +0.65 means? (I would have thought that is exposure bias, but that is shown in another field).

Many Thanks

He might have increased the exposure in some RAW editor software using the RAW file to +0.65.

Exposure compensation.

It may mean that they have slightly overexposed the photo using the current shutter and aperture combination and not the dedicated EV button.

Exposure compensation.

That's exactly what it means. One thing you have to remember though is that exposure compensation is only relevant in A and S mode. Im not sure about P. So if you use exposure compensation then switch you camera to M without setting the EC back to 0 it will still show up in the data but it means nothing.
