Need advice on a simple point and shoot camera?

I recently bought a Canon point and shoot digital camera at Walmart and was told it was the simplest one to use. Unfortunately, it's got so many on screen icons and features I don't understand that I don't even want to use it. Does anyone make a real basic point and shoot camera that takes high resolution pictures? Thanks.

Just shoot in full automatic mode. You don't need to use any of those menus or features. All cameras are equally simple if you are in full auto mode.

There is a control for the Display that will turn off all those icons for you. Then you will see just the plain image on the LCD.
