I have an SD200 and just installed the software that came w/ it, Im wondering if anyone else is having the same problems that I am? Whenever I edit or crop an image it doesnt let me save it back to my memory card. I take my memory card to the store in order to print off photos, so it is kind of nescessary for me to be able to save it back to my card. Is it only doing this because of the software Im using or does it not matter which software programs you use? Is there anyway around this mess?

I figured it out! You cant change the name of the image before saving back to the memory card, b/c the camera(SD200) can only recognize the name/number it assigned to the image. If I crop an image and dont rename it, it lets me save it back to the memory card, however it doesnt let me view the image on my camera instead it says "incompatible JPEG format." Im assuming I can still take this memory card to the store w/ the incompatible JPEG format and print the photo off. Am I right?

I've always used a card reader rather than directly connecting my cameras (Fuji & Nikon) so I've never encountered any similar file naming restrictions that might be present with my equipment.

When I've saved files back to the cards my cameras always fail to display the image. Nikon even mentions this in their instruction manual. The cameras want some extra data in the file that images editors don't, as a rule, generate.

After saving the images back on the card, I've had prints made on Kodak's digital printing machines at local labs and drug stores with no problems. Those machines don't rely on the extra data that the camera requires.
