motor noise TZ7

Hi guys,
a week ago I bought the TZ7 in Germany. Now I read some reviews and anyone says that it is a perfect camera. It is. There is just one issue or I configured the TZ7 wrong. When I record a video in AVCHD Lite and it is silent where I record, I can hear some sound on the recording. It must come from inside the camera and I can hear it even when I don't zoom. The zoom by the way is a little noisy too. Everytime I zoom there is that typical zooming sound on the recording. Does anybody have similar experience with te TZ7 oder the ZS3?

I think I came across a similar complaint regarding camera noise, but I have to test this myself with earphones. Maybe the Wind Cut function will do the trick?

The windcut doesn't solve the problem. I fugured out that it is important to place all fingers of the left hand far away from the mics on the top of the cam. so that a feedback is not possible. The noises reduce but the zoom can still be heard. that seems to be normal according to the pdf manual.
Hmpf.

But compared to other cameras, I think the zoom sound of the ZS3 is better than most of its kind. If you want complete silence, maybe you can just erase the audio track :D

This is why most small cameras don't allow zoom in video mode. I'd rather have the option myself, but you're going to get some motor noise, especially on the smaller cameras.

Good news! TZ7/ZS3 firmware 1.1 is out and available for download at:

Improvements:

1. Capable of playing back AVCHD motion picture format (1,280 x 720 ) taken with Panasonic Digital Camera DMC-GH1.

Notes:
* Not capable of playing back Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) motion picture format.
*This update of firmware is already included in some units depending on the production timing.

2. Noise of auto focusing (Quick AF) is reduced during action.

In AVCHD format noise is there each 3 sec., in Motion JPEG format each 0,5 sec. When I bought camera, it was not there (with firmware 1.0), I think it appeared after update to firmware 1.1 . Now camera is in Panasonic service, waiting for result ....
