Good Evening.

I've a newish d80 and it already has a couple spots on the sensor that "blowing" won't remove. I'm not in the position to take it to a Nikon service center each time this happens, simply because I'm not made of money AND because sand and dirt are two commodities that are in great supply here. As such, I'm willing to try swabbing. So, for those of you who wet swab your sensors....what fluid a swabbing materials do you all recommend?

Doing a simple search on this forum will provide your answer, but in short.. I use SensorSwabs with Eclipse Opitcal Solution, one drop per swab is all you need.

I own D80 myself. Have never tried swabbing. Don't hv e confident of doing it.
Wot I'll do is do a mirror-lock up with full battery and start blowing.
Works for me.

How often do U change lense Uncle ?

I don't change lens often, but apparently at some point I got something on the sensor. I've locked up the mirror and blown and blown and blown, but can't seem to get rid of the two spots that are causing me the most trouble. :( I'm hoping that with enough denial, they'll just disappear, but I suspect not.

Some prefer a blower, and others, like myself will suggest swabs, as you have found out first hand, blowers dont always work with all dust specs.

Looks like you need E2 for that D80.

I use the "Copper Hill Method'' easy and painless and works great.
