Hi All,

Wonderful boards... wondering if anyone can point me to a tutorial or how to set the autobracketing on my D70s for +2,0,-2 EV so I can take a stab at HDR photography.

Thanks for your help.

That info would prolly be in your manual.

While I'm sure it is.. I was hoping someone else who has already done this has easy steps to follow.

Reading and following manuals isn't everyone's strong point.

wow.. I've done that search and many more. If I had found the info I was looking for I wouldn't have posted. In fact, this thread comes up as result #5 or 6 on that google search.

Instead of treating me like a forum noob, maybe someone who has actually done hdr on a d70 might just come along and offer up help, all others, thanks for your suggestions, they just don't help.

comp, shoot in manual exposure mode. then it looks like all you have to do is press the BKT button and rotate the rear wheel until it says "ON" then press the button again and rotate the front wheel until it displays 3F +2EV. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD70/page6.asp

all that does is take 3 bracketed shots. you then need to upload those images into software, (like photomatix or CS3), to combine the exposures. all any camera does is take bracketed shots. its the software you use that creates the HDR image.

maybe someone who has actually done hdr on a d70

There would be very few if any regular posters here who still use D70 or D70s cameras. Getting first hand experience is unlikely as you are delving into the dark recesses of peoples minds with your query.

Wow, sounds a tad rude.

If you dont want to be treated as a "forum noob" then utilize one of the forums features.. the search tool! This topic has been covered here many times.

Next time you wish to ask others for help, be a little more respectful, it might generate more help.

Not trying to be rude JCON ... but I used the search tool. If you search for D70s HDR you get hundreds of threads... results come up for any thread where those keywords are even mentioned, as well as anyone that has HDR or D70S in their signatures... makes it kind of hard to find what Im looking for.

Also as noted by K1W1, there probably aren't a whole lot of D70S owners on here that shoot HDR, also with the limited results in Google searches, I understand that the info I'm looking for might be scarce, this was the whole reason I posted.

Forums should be for sharing ideas and information, not being told to read my manual or use the search button. I wasn't asking how to turn on my camera or load my CF card :)

ROOZ .. your suggestions work perfectly. Thanks for the great help.

Compmd, in a perfect world maybe... but when it appears that someone has not even done the basics to answer their own question. It makes people feel that they are being taken advantage of. It's one thing to say I read it in the manual and don't get it. It's quite another to have someone else type what could have been read from the manual. Think of it this way, it makes the person look lazy. I don't know of anyone here that enjoys reading their manual, but I guarantee you everyone that has responded to this post has read their manual.

You asked where you could get the info and you got an answer. Many people buy a product and never bother to take the instructions out of the box before running to the internet to ask questions so dont be surpised to get an answer like that on any forum. I wasnt rude with you nor did I flame you or make you out to be a newbie of any sort. I simply answer the question you asked the best I could. If you dont like it then thats your deal. And if reading and following manuals isnt your strong point I think figuring out how to shoot in HDR should be a little lower on your list of things to learn how to do. Its not rocket science..

everyone that has responded to this post has read their manual.

After 3 1/2 years with this camera my manual is still within reach of where I'm sitting right now and it gets referred to at least once a month.

I keep pushing the little button with the 'question mark'. lol Camera manual on my desk, SB-800 manual on the desk, trigger manual on the desk, I have to write a review soon on the triggers.
