Right has anyone got an idea on what is a good one? Just after something that will view thumbnails.

I've used Faststone (http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm)in the past as a file viewer, works for all kinds of RAW files (as well as jpg and the other standards).

I'm more after just a thumbnail viewer, got plenty of these more 'full on' programs already.

This does look interesting though if you where just getting into this sort of thing.

Maybe Adobe Albums since DNG is an Adobe format.

I just installed arcsoft and i think im going to quarantine it now.

I never trust apps that give me a registration window that is

1)without a register later button or cancel button
2)without the normal closing x on the side
3)doesnt properly register in window's controltab application

Arcsoft was guilty of all 3 things.

There's a Windows plugin that allows you to view RAW files normal like jpg. Ill search around for it. Dont have the exe anymore.

Well that is that, but it does the job pretty good. It isn't the buggy type of application. You just install it, cancel the registration (hard thing to do with this, I know, but I used Alt+Ctrl+Del) and voila. It'll never come up ever again.

I've been using it for a year now without problems.

The "Windows" plugin is for XP only, as far as I know. I don't think it works in Vista. Nikon has a RAW codec for Vista 32 but not 64, but that does not help for DNG. If you know otherwise, I'd be happy to hear about it. I'm using the Nikon RAW codec on my Vista 32 machines, and I have not gone 64 for this reason. If I find time to mess with Nikon's API (which I've downloaded), maybe I'll write one. It'll be an interesting challenge, as I've never done any "graphic image" programming.
