Got my Lowepro AW 300 slingshot yesterday. I had been pondering between it and the Tamrac Velocity 9X, Well Lowepro won out due to the $25.00 rebate on the 300. My total cost after rebate will be $55.00. The 300 is plenty big, maybe almost to big for a long day in the city or a crowded area.
I loaded it up tonight and it weighs in at 15.3 pounds, balances out and distributes the weight nicely with the waist / hip belt on, but if just wearing it as a sling bag it puts a fair amount of pressure on the shoulder. The Load:
A700, I do not have the vertical grip, looks like it will fit but be snug when you 'draw' the camera. I have the Tamron 70-200 attached with hood reversed. Tamron 17-50, Minolta 50mm 1.7 with filter and CPL attached, have that lens in the neoprene stuff bag. The Tokina 80-400 A-TX, I have the hood in the top storage compartment as I have a hell of a time reverse mounting it, and it works loose all the time, also I didn't like the way it fit in the main compartment with the 70-200 on the camera. The Tokina 28-70 3.5-4.5. I have 2 open slots, in one I have the battery charger and power cord. I don't see the 'not yet owned' Tamron 200-500 going inside the bag with out major reconfig LOL. Then all the other odds and ends a extra battery, the usb cable for the camera, the hi def. cable, so i know where its at. A card reader and cable that I never use, remote commander, cable release switch, camera body cap, 4GB CF card, lens pen, half dozen CZ wipes, micro fiber cloth, pocket notepad, ink pen. Will try and put up some pictures if anyone is interested. I am a big and wide guy and there is plenty of strap length.
