Is it possible to cut back on some of the advertisements, or simply place them in a fashion that doesn't separate the initial post in a thread from the replies? I personally find it a little annoying but understand if it's not in your power to do anything about it for financial reasons and what not, just adding my two cents. ;-)

Googled instructions. Quick and easy, now no adverts. Cheers for the tip:D

This thread has already been done. The conclusion is that you will get over it. How much financial support (money) to replace the ads have you sent Jeff?

Fair enough! No complaints here about the adverts, I fully understand. But I did just learn new things about my computer. Just found it interesting is all:)

Hey folks, I know ads can be annoying, and I think I've worked hard to minimize them on this site. 2008 was a bad year financially, and 2009 isn't looking any better, so I'd appreciate it if you could help out by not blocking ads on this site.

Thanks,
Jeff

Oops! Ok, no problem. Sorry!:o Like I said, I totally understand and have absolutely zero complaints about the ads. In fact, they didn't bother me at all. I'm not sure why people say they are annoying. I was more excited because I learnt some new computer "stuff":p Your wish is my command. Again, I'm sorry for rocking the boat.

I apologize for not taking the time to read through every thread thoroughly to check and see if this subject has already been addressed, although I did scan the thread titles in this forum and didn't think any of them made a mention of advertisements. I suppose I'll keep any eye out for that in the future when it's not unreasonable (for instance, a forum with over 100 threads). I guess the conclusion is not that I will get over it, either, thanks to a very helpful member that suggested a way to avoid seeing them altogether. I have not sent Jeff any financial support (a.k.a. "money") to replace the ads. I suppose if I wasn't a fulltime college student and worker who lives on her own and is about to lose her job, I would send people financial support, but truthfully, it wouldn't be to messageboard creators, I'd probably start with my friend from Africa's extended family, who are still stuck in a refugee camp.
But, thanks for the well thought out suggestions and response.
I look forward to attempting to include my input where there is a venue for it in the future and your rebuttals.

Hey Jeff,
Nice meeting you! I appreciate your response and I want you to know that I didn't read this post before I typed my last response. Because I respect the fact that you've provided a space for me to communicate with people who have similar hobbies on the web, I will not go forward with blocking the ads.
Again, thanks for the response!

I only block on a slow Dell. Anything to reduce loading time - lol. My Mac has no such issues. On the other hand, OSX is a real OS unlike XP.
