Can you buy from eBay? I've bought from this company numerous times.
$43 with three receivers: http://cgi.ebay.com/Phottix-PT-04-4-Channel-Flash-Trigger-with-3-Receivers_W0QQitemZ170295788694QQihZ007QQcategoryZ 64354QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
$33 with two receivers: http://cgi.ebay.com/Phottix-PT-04-4-Channel-Flash-Trigger-with-2-Receivers_W0QQitemZ170297767579QQihZ007QQcategoryZ 64354QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
$22 with one reciever: http://cgi.ebay.com/Phottix-PT-04-Flash-Trigger-Set-for-430EX-580EX-II-V2_W0QQitemZ170296653732QQihZ007QQcategoryZ64354QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
And to answer your question ... no, it's not worth the $100 that seller is charging. Phottix is a cheap "Made in China" brand. Even though it's 'cheap', it's a very good quality. I'm happy with my Phottix battery grip :D

i can't tell you anything about those, but i can tell you about the cactus triggers..(that they look identical to)...they're not very reliable. you can expect about a 70-80% hit rate from them. sometimes mine would stop working all together and after taking the batteries out of everything and putting them all back together they'd start working again, but you're talking 5 minutes in the middle of a shoot just for troubleshooting. and this was often. some days were good. some as bad as you could imagine. you're right though, the ONLY good thing about them is you don't need a hotshoe adapter to use with speedlights.
i'm not sure if there's any way possible for you to get skyports or cybersyncs, but i'd DEFINITELY recommend the cybersyncs. skyports are good too from what i've read. i've owned my cybersyncs since september and i've had 100% fire rate at the full 1/250s sync.
do you have any family in the states that can order them for you and send them to you? if i had the extra money i'd do it...but i'm broooooooke right now.

My triggers are SM Flashwaves, and they work very reliably also. They are kind of hard to find (my local shop stocks them, which is why I got 'em) but if you run across them, they are good.

I have people in the states but I don't trust their knowledge about anything technical...and I'm not keen on ordering online...people over here do order online but I've had friends who've credit cards have been scammed cause they use it often online....I'm a crazy paranoid person!!! :o
This is why I'm looking at a cheap solution locally just in case it goes bust on me....I wish I could rent it to see if I'm really into off camera stuff but the chances of renting here is as common as errr....ice storm in UAE....
I also wish I could do the Nick thing and keep returning things I didn't like, but no return policy exists....and if there was a policy, the customers are treated like a convict and anything you say will be held against you....
I don't care about the success rate honestly...anything around 75% is good enough for me to start off....I don't want to spend $300 on a pair of receivers and transmitters that one shop keeper tried selling me with a pair of $350 strobes....don't know what brand they were cause they were conveniently out of stock....
I'll maybe visit this place where they sell camera stuff at cheap prices (Some say the stuff are stolen goods) in India and try my luck. Anyway I plan to get hold of a old working film camera from the 60's/70's...
I'll look at these once I'm back I suppose!!

The picture in that kit shows the flash being mounted Very Weirdly. In fact, according to the strobist, thats the Wrong way of mounting it. So buying a strobist kit... but.. Ugh my brain.
Yeah since i first saw those wireless triggers i thought they'd mount on awkwardly.
