Hi Guys,

I need some help on deciding a camera, i am thinkgin about going either a ultra zoom or a ultra compact :) or both if you guys feel its necessarry.

I like the ultracompacts cuase i can fit them in my pocket, however they lack zoom. I am leaning towards the SD200 since its about $100 cheaper. Will i be disappointed by not getting the sd300?

Fo the zooms, i have always liked my canon cameras before, however, the s1 is lower megapixel then the 7590, uses a compact flash instead of SD so i couldnt share with the SD200 in th event i purchase both. However i do already own a 128meg compact flash. The Kodak though has the dock which i like, it makes things convenient while at home. Also, by the time i purchase batteries and a charger for the S1 the price gap between the two is not very much and i get 5mp instead of 3 and a dock.

The kodak though lacks IS, is this a big feature to have. Would you guys recommend the S1 over the kodak 7590 even though its 2MP less since it has IS?

Thanks
Ryan

Answer-

Internal stabilization is a very nice feature. It is particularly helpful at long zooms (8X+) and in low lighting conditions. But it is not essential. Please take a look at the Kodak DX-6490 (4mp-10X Optical Zoom). It is the 4mp version of the Kodak DX-7590 (5mp-10X Optical Zoom). The 6490 is a great camera that is selling at a bargain price of less than $325. A lot of men put the 6490 into a small padded utility case right on their belt and are very happy with the convenience of that arrangement. The 6490 like, the 7590, uses SD chips.

Take a look. Perhaps that could offer a solution.
