Let me preface by saying I don't have a website and not sure I ever will. Some discussion in another thread and an afternoon to goose around with ProShow Gold, led me to put together a short flash video slideshow that if I ever did get around to a website, I might use something like this as an "Intro" page. It also gave me a reason to learn how to post stuff up to YouTube.

The "Other" thread had cited use of text without images on it's intro homepage. I included similar text along with the images, although the images may have carried off the message by themselves. Some people don't like music. To me if it's right, it enhances the story. The music I used for this is typical for wedding slideshows I've done up to the point of the start of the reception, to which most B&G's seem to like a variety of contemporary country.

Two background images included are ProShow stock.

Feel free to rip it apart.

A little tweaking is maybe needed but overall it looks pretty good to me. The biggest niggle for me is the greenish color you used for the text...I don't like it. PSG is a great program isn't it? I switched to Mac this year and I am looking for a Mac version. Fotomagico looks like it has some potential as does Photo to Movie.

cdi LMAO...

Damn, Mark, that's pretty good. It gives me some ideas to use with the gif animator I have for my Mac...

I can combine several images to make a slideshow like that.

I think it is wonderful, a little long for a opening web page but perfect length for YouTube. I agree with the comment about the text color but it is readable regardless of the image in overlays. It would be hard to come up with a pleasing color that did not fade out with at least one two background image colors. The moving view-port of stills is very well done...pace, scale and rate.
Pretty impressive overall.

Harumph.... I found GIFs only handle 256 bits so photos will not be that great as a GIF

Yup... looked pretty good to me too Mark. Well done. :)

Although I agree with a couple of the guys who queried the font colour. I like the cursive script itself, but maybe it could be in a more contrasting colour to each background? Music is perfect.

Cheers.

Give the free trial a try and see if you get hooked. It's a heck of a fun program to get creative with.

Thanks for all the comments. I agree that some of the text colors blended in too much. I did try different colors and then just settled on what's there now.

I just tried a flash slideshow with it and it didn't work so well. I think you built for youtube. I built as a web page and the results were disappointing.

Autoviewer is good BUT with the pro version there seems no way of stopping the images from sliding from one side to the other. I don't have the pro version. I figure that at $45 if it doesn't do exactly what I want then it's too expensive!

I've got ProShow Gold v3.1 and the output I uploaded to YouTube was a Flash Video with an flv extension. The trial you downloaded is probably v4 that I believe has a feature to upload videos. Have you got something up on YouTube or elsewhere presently that you did with ProShow and could link?

I had done some research on the settings to use for a flash file for Youtube and below is shown the settings I had used. Don't know if this would help or not.
