I just bumped into an image taken by the FZ8 where the EXIF data says it was taken at ISO 160 on "Normal" program mode.

I thought that wasn't possible. Any ideas how a pic might be taken at ISO 160 on P mode? (unless it was on Intelligent ISO mode (the 'I' icon), and the EXIF data is just reporting it as "Normal" program for some reason)

Is there a setting in the menus or something that allows Auto ISO?

dario-

An ISO setting of 160 is a result of shooting in the Auto ISO mode. The Auto ISO mode can select just about any ISO setting it desires, and those ISO setting tono have to match the manual ISO setting available.

Okay, thanks. By the way, you mean Intelligent ISO, right? Or is there some Auto ISO setting in the menus? (like in some D-SLR's)

Yes, Dario-
I mean in the IA mode. However there are also some Panasonic cameras where Auto IS will work the same way. But for an FZ-8 it is in the IA Mode.

I was very puzzled when I found exif of ISO 150 on someone's Panasonic FZ20. I never thought it could be possible. But then I found out he was using auto ISO. Yes Sarah is right - Auto ISO will work the same way for Panasonic and Nikon DSLR cameras and maybe many others as well.
