Hello Folks !

Iīm new to this forum, but it has already answered many of my questions. There is one thing remaining...I formerly owned a Canon Powershot S410 Digital ELPH and experienced a lot of very annoying vignetting; that means especially when I used the cam indoors, with flash in WIDE ANGLE SETTING, the image corners were really dark. I know this is quite a commen problem most tiny cams have to cope with, but it was too heavy with the Powershot S410, so I sold it again...and I have to mention that the review on THIS site here doesnīt really speak of any noticable vignetting with the S410...
now my question : is there also such a vignetting problem with the powershot A95 (especially with indoor shots in wide angle position)? In the review, it is mentioned, but it also says that it wouldnīt be seen on real world shots. You know, what shall I believe now ? Is the review telling the truth THIS TIME ? I consider buying a A95, but NOT if there are also those clearly visible and annoying vignetting problems, this would be a real KO-factor to me. What are your experiences concerning vignetting (with the S410 or especially the A95, or with both in comparison).

I own the A95 and as mentionned in the reviews there is some vignetting... but like in the review, it is hardly noticeable in real life shots. I looked a variety of shots I took with my A95 and on some shots, I can notice it, but it is nothing I can complain about. If I am not looking for it, I am not seeing it. Maybe its because I am less sensible to those sorts of problems, but anyway, it suits me... Just like the S410 seemed to be liked by many.

I"ve had the A95 for about 7 weeks and took about 700 pics with it. On Screen and Printing, I haven't noticed it.
If I go back and look for it on screen, I can find a few with it very slight, but I wouldn't notice it unless I was looking to find it.

Thanks for those experiences ! You know, I really hate vignetting, i hate it more than purple fringing oder redeye, for example. And yes, Iīm also looking for it on screen, but :if itīs REALLY only noticable to a small degree, then I can live with it...but too much, I mean when you clearly see it already on the camera LCD without searching for it, then itīs too much, with was the case with the S410 Digital ELPH. Again, thanks for those answers, now I think thereīs nothing more to keep me from buying the baby ;). I think the sample pictures look amazing, and I donīt mind that it just sports the "DIGIC I", itīll be fast enough for me in most situations. Many other, faster cams in this price range donīt manage to focus correctly or such things.
