View Full Version : Adjustment needed to the menus
I just pulled the drop down menu on the reviews list. It goes up to 10mp. Given that most compacts are now over 10mp, wouldn't it be better to have it going from 10mp as 10mp, 15mp, 20mp, 30mp, 35mp ?

I agree with this too:

My suggestion (for what it's worth ) would be resolution categories of:
"Less than 10MP"
"10MP to 14MP"
"15 to 20MP"
"More than 20MP"
I guess the problem is that we all have our own preconceived ideas about exactly "what" MPs the various categories "should" be set at, and we're never gonna agree LOL.
Cheers :)
Given that we're likely to see more than 25mp very soon, I'd say we still need to be able to get up to at least 30mp. Other than that I agree with you.

Given that most compacts are now over 10mp...
Really? Here's the breakdown at Amazon:
5.9 MP & Under (757)
6 to 7.9 MP (453)
8 to 9.9 MP (385)
10 to 11.9 MP (272)
12 MP & Up (80)

Um... with all due respect, you're not exactly interpreting those statistics realistically here...
Really? Here's the breakdown at Amazon:
5.9 MP & Under (757)...[snip]
The 757 number includes hundreds of 0.1MP kids' toy cameras, second-hand 2MP "antiques" and $4-50 key chain cameras!
So I'll stick with Rhys, who says in pretty acceptable — and generalised — terms: "given that most compacts are now over 10MP".
In fact, if you check out Jeff's buyers' guide database you'll find that there's only two cameras of less than 6MP listed. Quoting Amazon stats is pretty pointless from any sales perspective.
Cheers :)
