Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible. anything between $100 and $200.

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you? i'm not too picky with size, but nothing too bulky.

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify) 5x at the least i guess.

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10) i'd give it a six and a half or maybe a seven.

Do you care for manual controls? i didn't even understand that question, so apparently not. :p

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? some photography but not very proffessional photography, just fun photography. and pictures of me and my friends.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? no.

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? probably, yes.

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? yes.

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? canon is my favorite but i'll take anything.

Are there particular models you already have in mind? i have a few but i want to see what models i get and see if any of those match what i have in mind.

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) weatherproof and image stabilization would be nice, but not needed.

thank you everyone!

oh, didn't notice that megapixels question. my reply to it is: at LEAST 7, 7 or more. nothing below that.

cameralover17-

If you are willing to accept the fact that P&S cameras are not the greatest when shooting in a true low light level photo environment, the the Panasonic TZ-5 and the Fuji F-100 are pretty good choices. For example, here is what the TZ-5 can do in a no flash/low light environment with a setting of ISO 800.

Kodak Z1085 IS, Fujifilm Z100fd, Nikon P60, Olympus FE-370, and Panasonic LZ10 all have 5X optical zoom and are priced under $150. The Sony W150 also has 5X and is now priced right at $150. None of these are weather resistant however. To get that you end up with a Olympus Stylus 850SW at a little over $200 and only 3X zoom.

My pick would be the Sony W150.
