Please help me figure out which camera to buy for Xmas.

I currently have a Canon SD400 and am looking for an updated camera.

Here is what I am looking for:
Great optical zoom, 5X or higher
Great low light quality. Will be taking lots of concert and outdoor night shots
Compact size
Good red eye reduction
Good image stabilizer
Good video quality

Here are the cameras that I came up with:
Fuji F100FD
Olympus 1010
Panasonic FX37
Panasonic FX500
Panasonic TZ5

Any help would be great. Please let me know.

If I am missing other good choices please let me know.

Thanks! :)

The only one of these that comes close to low light quality is the Fuji F100fd, and even that's a push. None of the others will be appreciably better then your SD400, IMO. And unless you're very close to the stage, the 140mm zoom on the F100fd isn't really enough.

Take a look at the Panasonic FZ-28. It does much better in a low light level environment.

The FZ-28 is too big for what I am looking to carry around. I have to be able to sneak it in to a show :)

Any thoughts on the others?

I have heard that the TZ5 is great for zoom but the FX500 and the fuji take better shots. That true?

Thanks for the input!

None of these would be that much better than my SD400?? I am very surprised it is a pretty old camera.

zmanzbo, it may be nearly a year old, but the Fuji F100fd is still one of the best compact point-and-shoots in terms if image quality.

See how it stacks up for yourself:

Low light performance hasn't improved in recent years, due to the desire to put more and more megapixels on the chip. The Fuji F31fd was the peak of low light compact performance, things have been going downhill ever since then.

I ordered the TZ5 so I hope that works out.

Any tips with this camera I should know?

Thanks.
