Powershot S3 IS. Repair or buy?

I have had the Canon Powershot S3 IS camera since the beginning of this year and it has been great! I got very accustomed to it and was able to take magnificent shots with it's newb/manual controls and custom firmware.

I bought it originally for $185. Recently I dropped it and the lens barrel cracked and I sent it in for a repair. Canon want's $150 to repair it and that's just the estimate, it could actually be more.

My question to all you experts is, should I just go ahead and repair it? Or is there a better alternative I can purchase? Just cause I know someone will ask, I'd probably like to keep within the 150-300/350 range.. I don't want these point and shoot rectangular ones, it has to look like an actual professional camera if that makes any sense. :D

Yeah, you want another Superzoom, gotcha.

The S3 is a great little camera, i'd look around and see if you can find another one. I'd sell you mine, except I gave it to my gal.

Another camera you can look into- the S3's replacement the S5. It's more megapixels and has a bigger screen and a very handy hot shoe. I have one of those laying around somewhere in the box too!

I don't need a superzoom at all. Honestly, I don't even use the zoom on the S3 at all. I can't even recall a moment when I actually used it.

I've just had great experience with it and had such great success with it that I've actually convinced my buddy to get the S5. He loves it too! I'd have no problem with jumping to the S5, but from many research and looking around, newer doesn't always mean better. Not saying that the S5 is a downgrade compared to the S3.

I'd love to be able to get a deal somewhere if I can, but any other inputs or tips? I'd love all the response I can get before I make a final decision.

Everybody trade in there S3 or what? I'll have to take some to post. If anyone is interested I might be selling my S3 along with the Canon tele with adapter.
