Thinking about the S8100fd

I have been using Fuji cameras for the last several years. Currently I have the F31fd but want something that has a better zoom. So i am looking at the 8100fd.

Does anyone have any experience with the camera?

I tried all the non-SuperCCD ultra-zooms in store, and ended up getting the S100fs instead.

If you're going to take mostly outdoor pics in bright sunlight, then the 8100 is fine. Indoors, it's not useful.
At this point, you can wait a bit for the micro 4/3, or even spring for a Rebel XS. It is now selling with 2 lens, 18-300 total range, for $500.

Or track down a refurbished or 2nd hand s6000 - same sensor as the F31, but more zoom (and bigger body, EVF, etc...)
