Yeah...I saw that...tempting...but I figured I'm too damn busy to devote 2-1/2 hours to watching a video...
Anyways, I find CLS relatively straight forward. But, if anyone picks up the video, please post a review! :)
Got a copy of it sitting on my desk and I'm about to insert the disc into the slot and settle back and watch. Thanks again for the freebie Jeff.
It's 2 1/2 hours long and from the 15 minutes or so I have seen so far looks terrific.
Okay I have watched another 10 minutes and I now know that for decent portraits I need 4 Speedlights, 4 tripods, an umbrella and a light reflector plus of course the D3, mega dollar lens and Mac Pro Notebook with 30" cinema display attached as well as the tethered camera set up to display images on screen immediately.
Poverty here I come. :D

Then the challenge becomes the rest of us doing the best we can with the everyman's equipment.
So you like the video? From the preview I thought it looked really interesting but wasn't going to jump the gun and put it on the X-Mas list unless I was sure it was worth the money (and it is relatively high for a DVD).
Well I'm now about 3/4 of the way through and I have learnt heaps. I will take me several views for everything to sink in but I find it a much better way of learning than a book.
Joe McNally using a D300 and 16-85 for some stunning portraits helps me to think that ubber dollar equipment is not all that is required but the overall thing I have learnt so far is that the more Speedlights you have the better.

You are lucky you had a confused smiley.
Calling me an Aussie will generally elicit the same response as asking a Texan what part of Maine he is from. :D:D
Now back on subject I have learnt that 12 Speedlights is what we all need. Seriously, I'm going to write a mini review later today. Let me get dinner organised first.

Would that be Dallas Maine or Houston Maine :p Truely it was meant as a term of endearment kinship if you will... I apologize for the incorrect usage. :o But I look forward to your review.

Miami, K1W1 reviewed it in this thread. In short it's excellent and I learnt heaps. I also learnt I can blame any sucky photos on not owning enough speedlights so I'm happy again.:D
