Hello,

I was looking through the Canon sample picture for the SD200, and I noticed 2 settings that I'm not quite sure how to translate into actual settings on the camera. I would appreciate if someone could explain what settings on the camera change these values.

Tv (Shutter Speed): 1/500
Aperture Value (Av): 3.2

Thank You :)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe you can manually set these on your sd200. You can set the shutterspeed for long exposure shots, i.e. those greater than one seconds from the main menu but you have no control over aperture. Both of these values are set for you automatically by the computer in the camera. If you select something like the pet/children mode on the mode dial, the camera will supposedly try to set higher shutter speeds into your shots to capture more action. It was designed to be more of a point and shoot camera. Great camera though and if you choose your mode according to the shot the pictures will usually end up fine.

But even though you don't have control over those values, they do show up in the picture data of all of your picture files. That's what you were looking at.
