Age old question, which one do I buy? This is what I need:
Print quality up to 8" x 10"
I am shooting indoors with dark light and no flash. I typically can not use a tripod as space is limited. So I need higher ISO with very little noise, wide angle and image stabalization. I also would love to have all of the above with realitive ease as I am a beginner. Can you easily adjust ISO on a point and shoot, or do I need a complicated DSLR for that? Money is not my biggest concern.. more important is ease of use and high quality under these conditions. I know.. I want the moon! Please HELP! Jill

A DSLR would be best but, alternatively, the Panasonic LX3 and Fuji F100fd do better than almost all point and shoot cameras in low light. Keep in mind that the LX3 has a very short zoom lens and the F100fd sometimes has a sensor flaw that results in a pink band appearing on the photo under certain circumstances.

If your target is low light no flash you really want a DSLR. Figure out a way to make it fit your budget.

Ok, I'm game ~ I have been struggling with making a point and shoot
CannonSD 850 work in low light and I am ready to get a camera that will work in low light with no flash... SO.. now the question is, "Which DSLR should I get then?" THANK YOU A MILLION!

There are a number of cameras for around $500 or less that will do the basics.
I would lean toward the Canon XS/XSi/XTi.
Canon calls its stabilization "IS", and Nikon is "VR". Some lenses that come with the camera are old-style and not stabilized, so make sure it says one of the above in the lens description.

I suppose a Canon XS with the 18-55mm IS kit lens and a 50mm f/1.8 would be good for the job. A Pentax K200 or Sony A200 with the same types of lenses might be even better, because the 50mm f/1.8 would be image stabilized also.
