View Full Version : SD1100 Shuts Down When Reviewing

Could use some help, hopefully this is just something silly I'm doing.

Love my SD1100, but now when I move the slider switch to 'play' in order to review the photos on the card the camera turns itself off.

It still takes photos and movies just fine. But if I move the slider to the play icon the green led flashes once, the screen flashes the last picture taken for a split second, and then the camera is dead.

If I move the slider back up to camera or video then press power it works fine. It's just the 'play' setting that causes the camera to turn off.

Any idea what's happening? Thanks!

Bob

Sounds like the switch is broken. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it. Cameras like this aren't really made to be repaired. You can call Canon service and see if they'll do anything for you.

That would really be a shame. Love the camera, but we just got it in July from Amazon. :(

Thx for the reply!

It's still pretty new, give Canon service a try. They may be willing to help you.

Yes, I believe these cameras carry a 1 year warranty, shouldn't have a problem getting it serviced.
