My previous camera (a Canon XTi) had a Jump button which allowed me to jump back 10 or 100 frames, or by date.

My new D90 in thumbnail mode (4, 9, or 72 frames) doesn't seem to allow this.

Does anyone know how you can make the camera jump back or forward 4, 9, or 72 frames?

Also, in calendar mode, there doesn't seem to be a way to go back to the previous month. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

Thanks.

i dont think you can do it. i've never actually heard of that feature. why would you have images from the previous month in the camera anyway ?

Canon owners are to embarrassed to take the images off their cameras and view them full screen. They prefer to look at the LCD and say "isn't that a wonderful shot I took last Christmas". :D:D

If I've taken pictures on December 1st and want to look at pictures taken on November 25th, I should be able to. If not, what's the point of a calendar feature?

i totally agree...what is the point ? i didnt even know they had a calender feature in cam. that sort of stuff is normally done, (and far more effective), on PC.

oh yes Sir, i recently saw a Nikonian carrying a D300 + battery grip and his wife carrying a 20" laptop, when i asked him why he told me that was a proper Nikonian setup allowing him to view his magnificient photos right away.
in case of no wife he said one can use a girlfriend too :p

Rooz, what you say sounds like crap to say the least. This feature on XTi comes handy when you want jump over some dozen photos instead of clicking like mad each time you want to go to the image #102 ... and of course no sane person examines photos on LCD, so what's the point? LCD on camera serves to show you photos on the go... i thought that was done for convinience.

So what purpose LCD has for a Nikonian user then? checking your make-up? :p

Btw, i am missing another feature that would allow me delete mutiple images right away on camera. you may laugh but i find this feature handy.

really ? i cant think of a time i'd use it. i can minimise my thumbnails and search thru i think 9, (maybe 12 ?? cant recall), images on the LCD so you dont have to scroll thru EVERY image. i never even bother using that so to me the jump 40 thing is useless. and the sort by date is well...

i didnt say reviewing an image on an LCD was a bad thing. i do it all the time. but to SORT thru photos on an LCD by date ? please. to search on a 3inch LCD what you shot last month ? why on earth would anyone do that ? i see no value in it whatsoever.

that too. :D:p

Rooz, so we agree, checking your make-up is what LCD is for on DLSR :p

I only hope my wife does not know about this usefull feature, otherwise she will take away my camera for herself. :D
