B&H have the Olympus 70-300mm lens on offer now for $287.95. That's considerably cheaper than when I bought mine only 4 months ago. I wonder if that means it is about to get updated? Either way it seems like a bargain to me.

And I was happy when I got mine for $305 three months ago! I hope the new one (if any) has SWD and is smaller, I'd gladly sell my 70-300, 18-180, and 14-42 to get it.

For those near closing Circuit City stores Olympus lenses and flashes are now running 30% off. The store out here in Goodyear. AZ area has (3) 70-300's new, in the box for $279.

Amazon.com has it for $283 and $278 from some of it's "partners" like 17th street photo which I have never heard of.

If you are near closing Circuit City stores the deals have finally hit the floor. They have a few days left and about the only new, in-the-box DSLRs are Olympus. They are all 40% off original list. I decided to move up from my E510 to the E520 as it was $389 before tax. There seem to be a lot of E420's left. There are even a few orphaned E330's in one local store in Atlanta. It is a little weird since the older cameras like the Ex10 series had hihger list prices than the Ex20's they are now more expensive.

Accessories are a good deal at 50% off. I picked up a FL36R for $115. I saw a few 70-300's new for $200. All the closing locations are in their last 5 days here in Atlanta. It was on 5 days left that the DSLR discount moved to 40% off original price.

Do you know where or how to find these stores? There are two in my town and neither are closing, in fact one just opened. But I'll be driving through California, Oregon, and Washington shortly, so I wouldn't mind stopping by as I went.

Those that opened recently had the best selection of current products. The one I visited back over Thanksgiving in Goodyear, AZ had only opened in May. Some Atlanta stores have already consolidated into others. Definitely worth a trip. I am almost thinking of a second FL36R, but I believe that might lead to spousal death threats...

Prices are dropping 10% per day at the closing stores. DSLRs are 60% off original list. I still saw a few E420 single lens kits for $275 new in-the-box.

17th st photo is legit. I purchased a 12-60 and 70-300 from them without issue.

Yeah, my circuit city wasn't that great. They had a single E-420 and E-510 left, but those were the display models and didn't work. They had two of the old kit tele lenses, plus three Sony old kit teles and a Sony flash. And that was it for DSLR's. And the prices weren't that great either, the Oly telephotos were priced at $200 after the price reduction, the non-functional E-420 for $375.

At the Focus on imaging show I just got a BLM-01 equivalent battery for 9.99 from Delkin Devices. It also comes with a 2 yr warranty. I hadn't even considered getting a spare until I saw this price.
