Things are a little slow so I'm trying new B&Ws with old images. Opinions welcome.

i think it really works on that first one. the 2nd one kinda bothers me since their faces are solid black...but you did that on purpose though right?

I like them very much; I've always loved B&W. The only critique that I would offer is that the vinegetting in the second one seems too strong to me.

No it wasn't on purpose really. The vignette is intentionally strong and the contrast high so that was a side effect. I also forgot to boost the levels with a center curve like I did the others so that didn't help. I've since re-uploaded it.

Thanks michael. I agree it's strong. I did the same amount on 'em all though.
As it is right now, it looks too strong on some, too weak on others, and then certain ones it seems just right. I'm trying to find a happy medium that looks good on everything since I'm not into adjusting a couple hundred individually for vignette. The only thing I want to be doing by hand is skin & sculpting - and I only do that on images for enlargement and the albums.

Yes. I have the same problem. Business is slow - I'm thinking hard on branching out with a subsidiary business.

You could go on tour, teaching people how to use flash.

Love the BW conversions Don. Nice job.
Great use of backlighting. Hope the B&G are still interested in older stuff. Anyway; great portfolio material.

ok so i really laughed out loud on that one...people at work were like, "adam, what are you laughing at?" i had to tell them it was a stupid email.

Since more people ask me to do computer repairs than photography (I hate computer repair work even though I'm good at it), I might start up a computer repair business. I started my photography business because I was so sick of computer repairing.

NICE, I like the second one, not really as a wedding photo but more as a interpretive fine art piece. It's like a statement on the condition of the male psyche.....

Or lack thereof? :D
I'm not turtlenecky enough to claim to have planned it that way, but that's kind of why I didn't mind all the faces going to black.
Kinda says "It's all about the bride & groom. Mostly the bride" - ie nobody else matters.
Donski, Photoshop or Lightroom edits?
PS for these. I'm trying to get LR to do the same thing but can't for the life of me get it together there.

Don - these are all great. Very impressive. What means you "they weren't my clients"?
