I have a quick question regarding the new Eos 5D Mark II's movie mode function. Does it record in manual focus (for the lens) once you start recording? I know the Nikon D90 starts in AF, but then requires you to manually focus the lens if the subject moves. Does the Canon work the same way? (logically I can see this being the method, but obviously AF would be better for lazy people).
I was watching the "official" movie (http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news-16980-Canon+5D+Mark+II%3A+The+World%27s+first+forbidden+ HD+Video+finally+Official!!.html) and really enjoyed it, especially some of the effects with blurring (obviously MF I'm assuming to result in some nice city light bokeh).
The quality on the video seems nice, decent enough for a camera. I can only hope that it gets even better, although I'm sort of inclined to think that a dedicated small compact HD flash camcorder would be better suited (duh) and may even be cheaper.
