So we went away for nights to Daylesford near Melbourne. So bought a .6 & .9 ND Grad to try and get some landscape shots happening.

Some decent shots there, although I'd like to see them bigger.

I'm always glad to see an enthusiastic user of GND filters, since I'm an avid user myself :) and it's good to see you back in the forum.
I think #1 is the best, it has the most interest. Good use of the filter, some nice colors. If it were my shot, I would consider raising the contrast and saturation, cropping a little, and possibly lightening the top blades of the windmill to make them stand out more against the sky. Too bad the dog wasn't doing something interesting. As it is, I'm not sure he adds to the shot.
#2, some fun use of wide angle but there's nothing really here to grab my interest. A closeup on one of the flowers, or maybe even dragging that furniture out into the flowers might have worked. Again I'd boost the colors.
#3 You did a great job with the filter here (did you use it?) the tree branches look very natural against the sky, yet they're not darkened by the filter. Looks almost like well-done HDR. The yellow tree and old wagon are good potential subjects, but I think you're not close enough. Somehow there's just not enough interest here.
#4 Cute, but it would be a lot more interesting if we could see his face.
#5 The old truck is a great subject, too bad it probably doesn't run :D because then you could take it away from that background, out onto a dirt road or a field of flowers or something. This one seems underexposed, and could use with a saturation boost too.
#6 Were you primarily showcasing the clouds? They are dramatic, but I think the ground lets them down. You have some pretty good composition there with the fence, but the old shed (?) just doesn't really stand up to the drama of the sky.
#7 Great shot, probably the one with the widest appeal. You did a great job keeping the colors, especially in the sun.

Hey Forno! Have I been out of touch with the forum too much lately or have you not been around much? Anyway, nice shots and good to see you posting.

Forno!!!! we miss you. :D
I really like #1 but I think it would have been really cool if you were able to get closer to the goat, or whatever that is, and used a wide angle lens.

Thanks for all the feedback guys & girl, you pretty much echo my own feelings on the photos:( I had high hopes of getting some great shots and so I was dissapointed I didnt get anything I was really happy with. I suppose that is the price of my recent lack of shooting.
Over the next few weeks I really want to get stuck into it again and get down to some basics to try and get back on the horse so to speak.
Its good to be back!:D:D
