Recommend some 450D lenses

Possible replacement for Japanese made Kit 18-55mm EF-S IS?

You didn't mention what your budget is so it's hard to give suggestions, but the canon 50mm 1.8 is a steal at under $100. Build quality feels like a toy but it puts out some really sharp images. F/1.8 is nice and wide for low light shots as well.
